Digital Discipleship Matters

Courses & Training

Children are growing up in a digitally connected world.

Every day, they are formed by the stories they hear, the images they see, and the messages they receive.

Digital Discipleship Matters equips families, churches, and educators to nurture the spiritual well-being of children through faithful, attentive engagement with media.

The Heart of This Work

This work is rooted in the spiritual discipline of listening.

In a culture filled with noise, we are invited to listen:

  • upward — for the voice of God
  • inward — to the shaping of the heart and imagination
  • outward — to the voices and stories in media and culture
  • forward — with discernment toward faithful living

Sound · Word · Formation

Digital discipleship is not only about limiting media.

It is about forming lives of faith within a media-shaped world.

Through this work, we attend to:

  • Sound — the music, messages, and media shaping attention and imagination
  • Word — the stories we believe, and the truth revealed in scripture
  • Formation — the ways children grow in faith, identity, and discernment

Together, these guide families and communities toward faithful engagement with digital culture.

Discernment and Discipleship in a Digital World

Every day we encounter headlines, images, posts, and stories that stir emotion and invite reaction. But faithful engagement asks something deeper than reaction.

It asks for discernment.

This course offers a framework for pausing, reflecting, and responding with wisdom in a digital environment that often rewards speed rather than thoughtfulness.

Participants explore:

• how media shapes belief and perception

• practices of digital discernment

• spiritual frameworks for responding rather than reacting

• ways Christian communities can model healthier digital engagement

The LOVE Framework

At the center of this course is a simple practice for thoughtful response in digital spaces.

LOVE

L — Listen

Pause and truly hear what is being said before reacting.

O — Observe

Notice what emotions, assumptions, or narratives are shaping the message.

V — Value

Consider the dignity and humanity of those involved in the conversation.

E — Engage

Respond with integrity, clarity, and compassion.

This framework offers a practical way to pause before posting and to approach digital communication with wisdom!
